No Apology From Brian Williams

The NBC Nightly News passed tonight without an apology from anchor Brian Williams, who last night likened America's Founding Fathers to Iranian Islamist revolutionaries and opined that they "...might have been considered terrorists by the British Crown." Williams is obviously hoping that the controversy dies away over the weekend.

Of course, it just may be that Williams is so deeply biased that he doesn't really see anything wrong with his grotesque and inappropriate analogy. Here are a few earlier quotes attributed to Williams, quotes that would seem to indicate that the NBC anchor is solidly on the lefthand side of the aisle:
“It’s red meat for conservatives, the positions rather strident tonight: anti-gay, pro-Jesus, and anti-abortion and no gray matter in between,”

“I’ve also said that if Americans were paying Presidents by the thought, we’re getting a bargain in this guy
[Clinton] because, my God, he’s just always moving, his brain’s moving, he hardly sleeps."

“President Bush makes a major announcement. Tonight, why the U.S. is deliberately going back on its word in front of the rest of the world.”

These quotes are just a sample of Williams political thought patterns, from the media research organization Media Reality Check.
