North Korea to Abandon Nuclear Weapons Program

Color me skeptical. From MSNBC:
BEIJING - North Korea pledged to drop its nuclear weapons development and rejoin international arms treaties in a unanimous agreement Monday at six-party arms talks, the first ever after more than two years of negotiations.
If true, this is great news, but what could have caused such an abrupt change of heart? Did China decide that a North Korea armed with nukes would be bad for business?

Of course, North Korea withdrew from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in 2002 after violating a previous agreement not to pursue nuclear weapons.
