Aussie Taliban to Become Brit Citizen

An Australian captured while fighting with the Taliban in 2002 has apparently won a court battle to be declared a British citizen. David Hicks has been held at Guantanamo Bay since his capture, and hopes that the United Kingdom will be more aggressive in seeking his release than the Australian government has been.

From Sky News:
The 30-year-old, whose mother is British, has argued that the Australian government is not doing enough to secure the release of its citizens.

His lawyers will now press the Government to make arrangements for him to take the required citizenship oath and pledge.

They will then urge the Home Office to seek his release from the Cuban camp.
Allahu Akbar.
