Political Opportunist

Russ Feingold is entering his bid for the Democratic nomination in '08 with a brazen bit of political pandering aimed directly at the lunatic Left. Feingold thinks that the President should be censured for protecting the country from terrorist attacks.

From the Associated Press:
A liberal Democrat and potential White House contender is proposing censuring President Bush for authorizing domestic eavesdropping, saying the White House misled Americans about its legality.

"The president has broken the law and, in some way, he must be held accountable," Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., told The Associated Press in an interview.

A censure resolution, which simply would scold the president, has been used just once in U.S. history _ against Andrew Jackson in 1834.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., called the proposal "a crazy political move" that would weaken the U.S. during wartime.
Frist is exactly right, and personally, I'd like to see a resolution entered to censure Feingold for being an irresponsible, pandering jackass who's more concerned with his political fortunes than he is with the lives of his countrymen.

You can email Senator Feingold at russ_feingold@feingold.senate.gov if you'd like to remind him of his responsiblities as a US Senator.

Here's his Washington address and phone and fax numbers:
Washington, DC
506 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510-4904
(202) 224-5323
TDD (202) 224-1280
Fax (202) 224-2725

I'm sure the Senator would find it instructive to hear how loyal Americans who aren't pimping for higher office feel about his latest antics.
