IRAQI SECURITY FORCES CAPTURE BOMB MAKER
BAGHDAD – Iraqi security forces captured an improvised explosive device maker and IED cell leader on August 27 near Mussayib. The suspect is believed to have participated in multiple IED attacks on coalition and Iraqi security forces, including one which took the lives of 4 U.S. servicemen on May 5th. This individual is also believed to be a supplier of IEDs to illegal armed groups inciting sectarian violence and government instability through kidnapping, murder and armed attacks.
COALITION FORCES KILL KNOWN TALIBAN COMMANDER
BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Coalition forces engaged Taliban leadership with joint fires, killing a known Taliban commander and 15 other militants on Aug. 25 in the central Khod Valley of Uruzgan Province.

The Taliban commander and his associates were involved in conducting attacks against the Afghan people and against Afghan, ISAF and Coalition forces.
TERRORIST CELLS TARGETED BY IRAQI, COALITION FORCES
