More Associated Press Political Games

In a story headlined, "Cheney Slams Iraq Plan Advocated by Dems," the Associated Press doesn't bother to tell readers what the VP actually said until giving Nancy Pelosi the chance to hysterically bitch and moan about her "patriotism" being questioned.

The actual Cheney quote comes in the fifth paragraph, after four paragraphs of Nancy's illogical ranting:
"I think if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we will do is validate the al-Qaida strategy," the vice president told ABC News. "The al-Qaida strategy is to break the will of the American people ... try to persuade us to throw in the towel and come home, and then they win because we quit."
It's hard to see how this justifies the frantic posturing of Pelosi, but frantic posturing is all Pelosi has to offer. The real question is: why is the Associated Press trying to get the average reader (who will not read as far as the fifth paragraph) to believe that the Veep questioned her patriotism?
