Nazis and Racists and Gays, Oh My!

The previews for 300 had already half-convinced me not to wait for the DVD, but seeing that the movie has got so many libby knickers in a twist clinches it. For some reason, the wimpy set really, really hates this movie. Enough so to compare it to Nazi propaganda and gay fetish films.

Ragnar provides the reason in his excellent review at The Jawa Report. It seems that the central theme of 300 is anathema to the Left these days: freedom isn't free. It comes from people willing to shed their own blood to secure it.

But every good progessive knows that freedom comes from non-violent demonstrations and civil disobedience. If only the Germans had tried that with Adolf...
