Prez to Iran and Syria: Watch Out.

President Bush made it clear in his State of the Union address tonight that the US will tolerate neither the enrichment of uranium by Iran, nor the sheltering of terrorists by Syria. Bush stopped just short of calling for Iranian citizens to overthrow the Ayatollahs, but implied that support from America would be forthcoming if they choose to do so. He also mentioned terrorists sheltering in Syria, and Syrian-controlled Lebanon.

Clearly, the success of the Iraqi election Sunday has taken much of the wind out of the Democrats' sails, but their side of the aisle managed some ill-mannered hooting when the President declared that Social Security could be bankrupt by 2042. Odd how a party that has insinuated apocalyptic economic conditions since 9/11 can be so complacent about the state of Social Security.
