A Consequence of the Sgrena Lunacy?

One of my contacts in Iraq has reported that his unit has been taking intermittent mortar fire from insurgents for the past three days. Counterbattery has traced the attacks and they're coming from about four miles away. Time to go out on patrol and hose these bastards? No, reportedly they have to wait for authorization from the embassy before they can take action. Lots of concern about Rules of Engagement in the wake of the Sgrena incident. Pray the authorization comes before these mutts get lucky and kill some of our guys.

On a personal note, I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee to repair a torn meniscus about two hours ago. Probably won't be posting much unless something really earth-shaking takes place.
