'The War Is On'

A common maxim comes from a folk legend about a hunter who found a snake, nearly frozen to death, and took it home to warm by his fire. As the snake regained its strength, it tried to bite the hunter's son as the boy offered the snake some food. The hunter killed the snake saying, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".

Norway has their own snake in the form of one Mullah Krekar. From the Brussels Journal:
Yesterday (Thursday) Mullah Krekar, the alleged leader of the Islamist group Ansar al-Islam who has been living in Norway as a refugee since 1991, said that the publication of the Muhammad cartoons was a declaration of war. “The war has begun,” he told Norwegian journalists. Mr Krekar said Muslims in Norway are preparing to fight. “It does not matter if the governments of Norway and Denmark apologize, the war is on.”
The Cartoon War will be a useful way to see in what numbers moderate Muslims exist, and indeed, whether or not Islam is compatible with moderation.
