Revelations: Day One

Last night, the Pentagon began posting declassified Iraqi documents captured during Operation Iraqi Freedom. This familiar face was the first thing to catch my eye - evidence that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was part of an al Qaeda presence in Iraq in 2002.

Dr. Rusty Shackleford of The Jawa Report cited a translation of another document, first posted at OpiniPundit, that states that Iraqi security not only knew of al Qaeda activity in Iraq in 2001, but also:
2. That America has proof that the government of Iraq and Osama Bin Laden group have shown cooperation to hit target within America.
These documents are a slap in the face to the people who have accepted Saddam's innocence regarding terrorist activity as a given.

Visit Michelle Malkin for a thorough roundup and links to people translating some of the documents that were released only in Arabic.

More analysis from Martin's Musings, Dust My Broom, A Lady's Ruminations, and Signal 94.

There are thousands of captured documents still to be posted, a process that will take months.

This is only the first day.
