Send a Message of Support by Pledging No Support For Wafflers

UPDATED AND BUMPED: Already, more than 18,500 people have signed this pledge. Go here to add your name to the list.

Hugh Hewitt and N.Z. Bear have organized a petition drive to let people express their displeasure with Republican Senators who choose to stab our military in the back by voting for Joe Biden's shameful resolution condemning the commitment by President Bush to supply General Petraeus with the additional troops he has requested.

As Ragnar at The Jawa Report astutely notes, we elected one Commander-in-Chief, not 100.

You can help transplant some spine to wavering Senators by signing this pledge:
If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.
This petition should be of special interest to the Nebraska Cornholer, Chuck Hagel, and any other Republican Senator who feels tempted to join Senate Democrats in providing aid and comfort to the enemy and endangering our troops for the sake of political expediency.
