The Next Step

As the Daily Star (Lebanon) points out here, now that the euphoria of the successful Iraqi elections is winding down, the US must deal effectively with a new Iraqi government ruled by a large Shiite majority. The other large, Shiite-dominated government in the Middle East is Iran.

Let's hope Adnan Alia and his compatriots honor this statement he made earlier:

"There will be no turbans in the government. Everyone agrees on that."
