Roberts Confirmed as Chief Justice

From the Associated Press via Yahoo!News:
The Senate voted 78-22 to confirm Roberts — a 50-year-old U.S. Appeals judge from the Washington suburb of Chevy Chase, Md. — as the successor to the late William H. Rehnquist, who died earlier this month. All of the Senate's majority Republicans, and about half of the Democrats, voted for Roberts.
Now the real fight will begin as the Democrat minority seeks to force President Bush and the Republican majority to name a liberal to replace Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

This the main reason that mainstream media criticism of President Bush has been so harsh and unreasonable lately - why the mask of "unbiased journalism" is askew right now. The MSM have been trying to draw down Bush's political capital to make it harder for the President to name a conservative to the Supreme Court.
