Rush is Wrong, Sheehan is on Hillary's Side

Rush Limbaugh is usually right, but this time he's underestimating the underhandedness of Hillary Clinton's campaign for President. Citing this open letter from peace lunatic Cindy Sheehan on Michael Moore's website, Rush determines that Sheehan has made a serious mistake.:
I would love to support Hillary for President if she would come out against the travesty in Iraq. But I don't think she can speak out against the occupation, because she supports it.

I will not make the mistake of supporting another pro-war Democrat for president again: As I won't support a pro-war Republican.
Rush says that now Hillary's goons will bury Sheehan. Maybe, but my own take is that Cindy is doing exactly what Hillary wants her to do. This is Hillary's route to the center. No one on the Left is going to abandon Hillary because Cindy says so, but now Hillary's campaign (and the Clintons are about nothing other than campaigns) can point to Cindy Sheehan's letter as evidence that Hillary represents the "mainstream". Sheehan may be a loon, but she certainly realizes that the election isn't for another three years - Hillary's position on troops in Iraq today will have no relevance to the situation in 2008.

Rush has underestimated the inbred sneakiness of the Left in general, and Hillary Clinton in particular. This is a setup; time will reveal Sheehan's quid pro quo for this little bit of political theater.
