Locking the Barn Door After the Horse Is Gone

From an Agence France Presse story about Hillary defending Bill's shrill attacks on Barack Obama [emphasis added]:
Obama's campaign said it was unbecoming for a former commander-in-chief to be engaging in harsh attacks against a fellow Democrat and some party figures have advised Bill Clinton to tone down his words or risk tarnishing his presidential legacy.

"I think it's not presidential, it's not in keeping with the image of a former president, and I'm frankly surprised that he is taking this approach," said former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle, who has endorsed Obama.
Umm...impeachment, disbarment, stanky cigar, hosed down little blue dress, bimbo eruptions, rape accusation, charges of unwanted fondling? Bill's antics are very much in keeping with the image of this former president.

What's to tarnish?
