So, for the upcoming “Avatar” trilogy, let’s lay this template — Cameron’s idea of ”honoring” — over some other groups and see how it plays. That's gonna leave a mark.“Avatar 2: Gays Vs. Straights”
In this stirring tribute to gay people everywhere, genocidal gays and lesbians eagerly commit acts of terrorism against innocent heterosexuals in their determination to erase them from the planet in order to steal their wealth. But in the end, One Gay Man saves the day when he turns straight and helps his new heterosexual tribe defeat the marauding homosexuals.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - More than 100 manatees have been found dead in Florida waters since the beginning of the year, mostly victims of a nearly two-week cold snap.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the preliminary cause of death for 77 of the endangered animals is cold stress. They were found from Jan. 1 through Jan. 23.
Anti-terror officials said the past week had seen an "unusually high" number of people on their no-fly list trying to board US-bound planes. Why would terrorists try to push people on the no-fly list through? Diversion. While security is busy investigating a no-fly list attempt to board, others who aren't on the list can be sneaking through the checkpoint with IED components.
It is very difficult to have a democracy without citizens. It is impossible to be a citizen if you don't make an effort to understand the most basic activities of your government. It is very difficult to thrive in an increasingly competitive world if you're a nation of dodos.Joe, let me put this in terms that someone like you, a sheltered ultra-liberal media parasite, can understand. The stimulus package operates on the economy in a zero-sum manner. If the government, which produces nothing, decides to spend however many tens of billions of dollars on "shovel-ready" boondoggles and buy-the-vote projects, that money comes from taxpayers, the people who are actually producing things.
The chairman of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), has used bogus claims that Himalayan glaciers were melting to win grants worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.Even though the IPCC retracted its outrageous claim that the Himalayan glaciers would be entirely melted by 2035, the lie is still being cited for grant applications:
Rajendra Pachauri's Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), based in New Delhi, was awarded up to £310,000 by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the lion's share of a £2.5m EU grant funded by European taxpayers.
An abstract of the grant application published on Carnegie's website said: "The Himalaya glaciers, vital to more than a dozen major rivers that sustain hundreds of millions of people in South Asia, are melting and receding at a dangerous rate. And the same charlatans boldly continue to bilk the world without apparent fear of punishment:
"One authoritative study reported that most of the glaciers in the region "will vanish within forty years as a result of global warming, resulting in widespread water shortages."
The same release also quoted Dr Syed Hasnain, the glaciologist who, back in 1999, made the now discredited claim that Himalayan glaciers would be gone by 2035.
He now heads Pachauri's glaciology unit at TERI which sought the grants and which is carrying out the glacier research.
Critics point out that Hasnain, of all people, should have known the claim that the Himalayan glaciers could melt by 2035 was bogus because he was meant to be a leading glaciologist specialising in the Himalayas.
(CNN) -- A new audio tape allegedly from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden claims responsibility for an attempt to blow up a plane en route to Michigan on Christmas Day and warns the United States of more attacks.Would-be bloody-handed Muslim "martyrs" take note: Osama is just fine with roasting your naughty bits if it serves his purposes. Kinda hard to service seventy-two
Now it is eight years later, and Johnson, who is 56, sits in the ashes of an epic flame war that has destroyed his relationships with nearly every one of his old right-wing allies. People who have pledged their lives to fighting Islamic extremism, when asked about Charles Johnson now, unsheathe a word they do not throw around lightly: “evil.” Glenn Beck has taken the time to denounce him on air and at length. Johnson himself (Mad King Charles is one of his most frequent, and most printable, Web nicknames) has used his technical know-how to block thousands of his former readers not just from commenting on his site but even, in many cases, from viewing its home page. He recently moved into a gated community, partly out of fear, he said, that the venom directed at him in cyberspace might jump its boundaries and lead someone to do him physical harm. He has turned forcefully against Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, nearly every conservative icon you can name. And answering the question of what, or who, got to Charles Johnson has itself become a kind of boom genre on the Internet.Okay, but what led Chuck to abandon reason and libel many of his erstwhile friends?
Johnson began taking shots at not only Vlaams Belang, an organization it seems safe to say the vast majority of his readers had never heard of, but also at formerly favored colleagues like Spencer and Geller, to whom, by attending the same conference, the European neofascist movement was now . . . linked. Johnson first hinted, and eventually demanded, that they publicly distance themselves from both Vlaams Belang and the conference itself, and when they demurred, he publicly distanced himself from them. And that leads me to conclude, without a shadow of a doubt, that this quote from the NYT article...
"And so I realized, you know, that maybe it’s time to tell people that I’m not onboard with a lot of this social-conservative agenda. And I think that I actually speak for a lot of people.”...is code for Gay Rights.
Air America, the long-suffering progressive talk radio network, abruptly shut down on Thursday, bowing to what it called a “very difficult economic environment.”Translation: they couldn't find enough idiots to listen to their sophomoric crap and they ran out of charities to plunder for operating funds.
How could the health care issue have turned from a reform that was going to make Barack Obama ten feet tall into a poison pill for Democratic senators? Whether or not Martha Coakley squeaks through in Massachusetts on Tuesday, the health bill has already done incalculable political damage and will likely do more. The HuffPo commenters exhibit the panic in the progressive ranks:
Kuttner is right, of course. Obama went about this all wrong, and, now, there are going to be some real consequences...The only thing missing:
...He can kiss it all goodbye now, because I can't see anything changing, as long as you have a DOJ who won't investigate possible crimes of the past administration...[yada-yada-yada Bushitler etc.]...
Obama has turned out to be the worst leader of his party I have ever seen. He plays to the banks and corporations and thinks we aren't seeing it...
The only "change" Mr. Obama is going to achieve is that he will probably never have to worry about his income again.
They were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III, or whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, we will serve you if you'll get us free from the French. True story. And so, the devil said, okay it's a deal.I think Robertson also blamed the 9/11 attacks on American immorality. Senile tool.
When we look back at what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this [the earthquake] is what happens, you know what I'm saying? But we have to act now.In his free time, Glover enjoys sunsets and planting big wet slobbering kisses on the enormous ass of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez.
The rough-and-tumble world of politics was on full display Tuesday night when longtime Democratic strategist Michael Meehan was caught on videotape shoving a reporter for the Weekly Standard into a metal railing, reportedly giving him a large tear in his pants.Puppet media like the Boston Globe are covering for Meehan and Coakley.
The incident occurred outside of a Washington fundraiser for Martha Coakley, the Democratic candidate in a competitive race to fill the seat of the late Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.
But along the way, they forgot one important point: African-Americans, like everyone else, are more concerned with what politicians do than with what they say. And on that measure, Harry Reid is second to none. This is difficult to parse. Is it that Coley is as stupid and gullible as he sounds, or does he think African-Americans as a class are too stupid to see the obvious, that the Democratic policies championed by Reid, et. al., are designed to keep them as a permanent Charlie Brown-trying-to-kick-the-football underclass with their hopes and dreams kept always just out of reach, lest they become part of the bourgeoisie?
"El-Faisal quoted Osama bin Laden and called on his supporters to kill non-Muslims using not only guns and bombs, but also chemical and nuclear weapons."Hat Tip: Shona.
"El-Faisal's supporters continued to insist he was a man of peace even after his imprisonment."
"Sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace" -- Bob DylanPolice in Kenya said El-Faisal had violated the terms of his tourist visa by preaching in mosques. He was arrested for allegedly breaching immigration regulations.
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iran set a one-month deadline Saturday for the West to accept its counterproposal to a U.N.-drafted nuclear plan and warned that otherwise it will produce reactor fuel at a higher level of enrichment on its own.The trouble with this kind of brinksmanship is that, sometimes, even a weak, cowardly man holding a big gun can be frightened into pulling the trigger.
The warning was a show of defiance and a hardening of Iran's stance over its nuclear program, which the West fears masks an effort to develop a nuclear weapons capability. Tehran insists its program is only for peaceful purposes, such as electricity production, and says it has no intention of making a bomb.
A Somali man was shot as he allegedly tried to enter the home of Danish political cartoonist Kurt Westergaard -- known for his controversial depictions of the Muslim prophet Mohammad -- on Saturday, police said. While the Somali has not been identified as a Muslim, I think it's safe to assume he isn't from a militant Quaker sect. Besides, Quakers aren't stupid enough to bring an axe to a gunfight.
The 27-year-old man, who was not identified, wielded an ax and a knife and cracked a window at Westergaard's home in Aarhus, said police spokesman Morten Jensen. A home alarm alerted police to the scene at 10 p.m., and they were attacked by the man, he said.
