The year has barely started and we already have a contender for the Running Dog Lackey of the Capitalist Imperialistic Hegemony
Award. The Doggy, in the form of a sculpture depicting a lapdog licking his testicles, goes to that member of the MSM who most clumsily tries to forward his own personal political agenda. Competition is fierce.
Now, the thing about propaganda is, it's best to stick as close to the truth as possible. Otherwise, you end up putting out laughers
A principal architect of the disastrous presidency of George W. Bush, Karl Rove, 57...
This is the opening line to a "Proust Questionnaire" on Karl Rove, and an admission that the writer was unable to outmaneuver Rove in the interview and make him expose his horns and forked tail.
By Proust's standard, one would have to consider FDR's Presidency a mega-disaster, what with an average of 9,009 American deaths per month during WWII
, American citizens dumped into internment camps, and the empowerment of the Soviet Union.
And Lincoln? Supercatastrophickiciousexinghabeascorpus! More Americans killed than all other wars...combined; newpaper editors thrown into jail for sedition; accused spies held without formal charges and without the right of habeas corpus!
Stack that up against what we have today. A President who responded to direct attack - in Manhattan - with the destruction of two brutal and repressive regimes that were, just coincidentally, exporting terrorism; no followup terrorist attack for six years and counting; and re-election for a second term. And news media, such as the New York Times and Vanity Fair allowed to expose secret counter-terror programs - even print diagrams telling terrorists exactly where to shoot Marines for maximum effect - without a single editor seeing the inside of a jail cell.
Please bring us more disasters like this. Oh yeah, and more boneheads like this doctrinaire Vanity Fair idiot (and editors stupid enough to let them spout such nonsense).
